I raised the bar this year.
Last September I participated for the first time in the Great Cycle Challenge. I rode 300 miles and raised over $1,000 for pediatric cancer research. For 2023 I decided to ride 350 miles and attempt to raise $1,500.
Don’t you hate when people try to guilt you into giving? I know I do.
But this isn’t meant to be that. Honestly, to the best of my ability, I’m not trying to give you a hard time, anxiety, or a guilt trip. I care about kids cancer because Misty‘s sister, Jessica, died from it many years ago. Jessica didn’t get to live a full life. I’ve been blessed to survive a bunch of stuff and still be living, so I want to help give these kids the chance to carry on as well.
It’s tough to find the time to ride this much which is part of the reason I haven’t been writing. I have many things I’m trying to complete and putting in the trail miles is time consuming. I don’t want to grind out rides on the road, I need to be in the woods where I find peace and quiet. These kids deserve some peace. We should be winning this fight against cancer!
Please donate $1 to help kids with cancer and those that will be born into this fight!
Why?
- Donating just $1 isn’t a burden for almost anyone.
- These kids didn’t do anything wrong and don’t deserve to struggle their entire lives
- Only 4% of federal cancer research funding goes to children!
- We should be trying to help the sick and less fortunate!
Trust but Verify
The Children’s Cancer Research Fund that created the Great Cycle Challenge has a score of 89% on Charity Navigator. I did some research before I got involved with them last year. The hyperlinks will take you to some information; Fidete, sed verificate.
Inflation has taken a toll on households and according to CNN Business, there’s been a 10% drop in charitable giving recently. I know times are tough but these kids need our help. I’ve donated, will you?
I’ve got 1 week left to ride 109 miles and raise $1050!
